Almost all the concepts and patent applications for bent smartphones use a very similar transformation scheme, in which the gadget folds into a smartphone (device for making and receiving / sending notifications), and in the unfolded - a tablet (device for consuming content, including the web and video). However, those familiar with the process of developing bent Samsung smartphones assure that the company has created another version of such a device. According to insiders, this concept was one of two demonstrated at a closed meeting with experts at CES 2018. The first model (in-folding design) consists of two halves 3.5 inches in size, the fold line runs just in the middle of the internal screen, while in the unfolded state the length of the case of this smartphone does not exceed the dimensions of Galaxy Note 8, equipped with a 6.3 inch screen. The most interesting thing is that this is the state that is the main one for this concept. That is, the device looks like an ordinary large-format smartphone (if you do not pay attention to the "suspicious" hinge in the middle of the case), with which you can call, communicate in messengers and engage in browsing. But when the smartphone is not needed, it can be folded in half (it turns out almost square) and put it in your pocket. In this case, the developers took care that even in a closed state you could receive notifications from him - they placed another 3.5-inch screen on the outer surface of one of the halves, getting something like a modern "clamshell". The second concept was made using the already familiar out-folding design - in the closed state it will look like a normal vertically oriented smartphone, however, if necessary, it can be opened as a book and thus turned into a compact tablet with a landscape orientation screen.
